IRS Stimulus Checks Start Mailing May 2 to 137 Million Americans
The exact date you will receive your $300, $600 or $1,200 stimulus checks has been released by the IRS. The check date is based on the last two digits of your social security number. It’s not taxable, and it won’t reduce your 2007 or 2008 refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return.

Even people who don’t normally file their taxes need to file a return this year if they wish to get their Economic Stimulus Payment. All you need to qualify for a check is to have received $3,000 in income for 2007. This income can even be from benefits such as SSI or retirement benefits.
